How it all started...
Destination Community Church was founded in November 2009 when twelve people stepped out in faith with a vision to make a difference in Floyd County. At the time, studies showed that nearly 90% of county residents did not regularly attend church or have a relationship with Jesus Christ. DCC was planted to help change that by leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus.
Expanding The Vision...
DCC held its first service at the Mountain Arts Center on Easter Sunday in 2010. Weekly services began in September 2010, and by November of that same year, we moved into our current facility, where we continue to gather today.
From the very beginning, our prayer has been that DCC would be a place where everyone feels welcome—regardless of their background, life experiences, or previous church involvement.
Whether you've spent your entire life in church or have never walked through the doors before, our hope is that you'll feel loved, accepted, and encounter the life-changing message of Jesus in a clear and meaningful way.

A season of growth....
DCC was founded by our Founding Pastor, Lee Boyd, who faithfully served as a bi-vocational pastor until 2016. Following his leadership, a full-time lead pastor served the church until December 2019. In July 2021, Jacob Dickerson became DCC's current Lead Pastor.
What began as a prayer and a vision shared by twelve people has grown into a thriving church that is making a lasting difference throughout our community.
Since our beginning, we've celebrated over 300 baptisms, seen countless people place their faith in Jesus Christ, and invested nearly $500,000 back into our community through local outreach and ministry partnerships.

Where we are headed....
Over the past five years, DCC has experienced incredible growth, with an average of over 300 people attending every Sunday. As a result, we've outgrown our current facilities.
In January of 2024, we launched a capital campaign - Building Forward - with the vision of creating more room to reach even more people for Jesus. This includes doubling the seating capacity in our auditorium and adding a 5,000-square-foot family ministry wing for kids and students.
Phase 1 construction began in Spring 2026 and will be completed in Fall 2026. Phase 2 construction will begin in July 2027.
